About the Opportunity

Our Award-Winning Client, recognized for excellence and operating on a national scale, is seeking a Senior Pediatric Echo Cardiac Sonographer to join their dynamic healthcare team. This specialized role is responsible for conducting intricate pediatric echocardiograms, ensuring high-quality imaging, and working with a diverse patient population in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospital-based environment and excels in providing comprehensive imaging services in a cutting-edge echocardiography laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced echocardiographic imaging, including 2D/3D imaging, M-mode, Doppler (color & spectral), and stress echocardiograms for pediatric patients.
  • Generate detailed preliminary reports, ensuring accuracy in data interpretation and documentation.
  • Conduct telemedicine echo guidance for affiliated remote locations.
  • Oversee quality assurance programs, participating in the periodic review of echocardiograms for consistency and adherence to laboratory standards.
  • Maintain patient safety standards and comply with all established echocardiography laboratory protocols.
  • Assist in lab accreditation efforts, supporting documentation and compliance with accrediting organizations.
  • Provide guidance and training to fellows, visiting sonographers, and students on echocardiography techniques and proper equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with clinical research teams to ensure data collection and imaging align with protocol standards.
  • Work closely with the Department Manager and Lead Principal Pediatric Echocardiographer to optimize the use of the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
  • Foster a supportive and patient-friendly environment, ensuring professional and effective communication with patients, families, and medical staff.

Required Skills & Certifications

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) – American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in an advanced hospital-based echocardiography setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric echocardiography and acute-care imaging
  • Strong technical knowledge of ultrasound imaging equipment, PACS, and echocardiographic analysis tools
  • Exceptional ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fetal Echocardiography Certification (FE) – Preferred (Must obtain within one year of hire if not currently certified)
