Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer

Our Award-Winning Client, a renowned healthcare provider and one of the busiest trauma centers in the U.S., is seeking a skilled Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join their team at Award-Winning Client, Houston, TX. With an impressive reputation in pediatric cardiology and heart surgery, this client provides comprehensive care for children with congenital heart conditions, utilizing advanced technology and innovative treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pediatric congenital echocardiograms, ensuring patient safety and comfort while following departmental procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians to analyze patient histories, interpret diagnostic findings, and contribute to treatment planning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple echocardiogram modalities and assist with pre/post-procedures.
  • Provide preliminary findings to cardiologists, including detailed measurements and comparisons with prior studies.
  • Assist in onboarding and educating new sonographers, ensuring seamless integration into the department.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance, quality assurance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement activities, and call schedules.
  • Promote continuous professional growth and development by participating in mandatory continuing education programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited sonography or cardiac sonography program.
  • Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support (BLS/ACLS).
  • One of the following certifications required:
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
    • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • For those with RCS or RDCS AE, RCCS or RDCS PE must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
  • Must have either experience or training in Pediatric scans specifically (No new grads or candidates that have not scanned Peds)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BLS certification from AHA.
  • Experience in pediatric cardiac care, especially with complex heart conditions and post-surgery patients.

$43-$65/hr depending on various factors including their years of experience
