Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in advanced technology solutions, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager with a strong background in FPGA/Digital Design to lead a team focused on developing secure tactical communication products. This role involves overseeing firmware development for wireless communication systems while managing resources, schedules, and budgets.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in FPGA/Firmware development and expertise in technical team and project leadership. This position requires working closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and verify FPGA solutions while ensuring all project goals are met. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the candidate will handle career development and mentorship of direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and lead a team of FPGA engineers, handling performance evaluations, setting goals, approving timecards, and driving professional development.
• Develop and execute project plans to ensure timely completion of FPGA-based embedded system solutions.
• Maintain and enhance FPGA development processes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure technical excellence by guiding engineers in FPGA/ASIC development, verification, and synthesis.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and schedules to align with company objectives.
• Work collaboratively with other engineering teams to integrate FPGA solutions into broader communication products.
• Drive compliance with industry standards related to cryptographic security solutions and secure product certifications.
• Mentor and support engineers, fostering a high-performance and innovation-driven culture.
• Coordinate remote and on-site teams to ensure streamlined project execution.
• Ensure documentation and technical reports are accurate and meet organizational standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field with 9+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC-based embedded system development and verification, OR
• Graduate Degree with 7+ years of experience in FPGA/ASIC-based embedded system development, OR
• In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of FPGA/ASIC development experience.

Preferred Technical Skills & Expertise:

• Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog coding for FPGA/ASIC synthesis.
• Expertise in FPGA/ASIC verification using SystemVerilog.
• Experience with UVM/OVM verification methodologies for FPGA/ASIC design.
• Development of cryptographic security solutions for secure communication products.
• Experience in the certification of Type 1/Type 3 secure communication devices.
• Strong leadership experience in FPGA/ASIC design and embedded systems development.
• Comprehensive understanding of FPGA/ASIC development and verification methodologies.
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively across teams and stakeholders.
• Self-driven professional who excels in team environments and leadership roles.
• Proficiency in working with geographically dispersed teams and remote collaboration tools.
