Chief Inspector 1 Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise field inspections for highway, bridge, rail, or facility construction projects, ensuring full compliance with contract specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.

• Direct inspection teams and ensure proper documentation of all construction activities, including detailed reports and project recommendations.

• Coordinate closely with project stakeholders to resolve on-site construction issues and contribute to successful project execution.

• Maintain accurate and organized project records and ensure timely communication across all levels of project management.

• Apply advanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures to guide teams through complex inspection tasks.

Minimum Required Credentials:

• PE (Professional Engineer), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or EIT (Engineer-in-Training)

• NICET Level IV Certification in Highway Construction Inspection

• Trade License (where applicable or mandated)

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in construction documentation and correspondence preparation.

• Demonstrated ability to manage diverse inspection teams and interact effectively with contractors, engineers, and project personnel.

• Proven skill in record-keeping, conflict resolution, and maintaining construction quality and safety standards.

Minimum Experience:

• General Construction Experience: 5 to 10 years

• Field Inspection Experience: Minimum of 4 years

• Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 2 years
