Our Award Winning Client, a nationally recognized healthcare leader known for delivering high-quality, award-winning patient care across the U.S., is seeking two experienced Respiratory Care Practitioners to join their collaborative care team. These full-time, night-shift roles are based in a progressive acute care facility in Eureka, California, offering a diverse clinical setting with opportunities to grow professionally while impacting lives daily.
As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in respiratory therapy services across multiple hospital departments. You’ll assess, plan, and implement high-level respiratory care while working directly with physicians and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver and monitor therapeutic procedures such as oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and mechanical ventilation
Perform and analyze diagnostic respiratory assessments including arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests
Collaborate with care teams across units including ICU, ED, Telemetry, PACU, NICU, Nursery, Childbirth Center, and Medical-Surgical
Adjust ventilator settings based on patient needs and clinical data
Support rapid response and resuscitation efforts
Ensure accurate clinical documentation and utilize hospital EHR systems
Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
Educate patients and families on respiratory care management and discharge plans
Expertise in ventilator management (adult and neonatal)
Skilled in arterial blood gas collection and interpretation
Familiarity with CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow oxygen systems, and nebulizer treatments
Proficient in emergency airway management and resuscitation support
Strong command of pulmonary diagnostics and respiratory pharmacology
Electronic health record (EHR) experience
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and team collaboration skills
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program (AMA-approved)
California RCP license – required at time of hire
BLS certification (American Heart Association) – required at time of hire
ACLS & PALS certifications (American Heart Association) – required within 90 days of hire
Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based experience in acute care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Proven experience across diverse hospital units, including NICU, ED, and ICU
