Position Overview

The Supply Chain / Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end order-to-delivery process, ensuring the seamless availability of essential commodities to support manufacturing and distribution operations. This role involves implementing strategic sourcing solutions, supplier performance management, and optimizing supply chain processes to drive cost reductions and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, industry expertise, and the ability to develop a high-performing supply chain team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier performance to ensure alignment with business needs and supply chain demand.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that support business growth while optimizing costs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on commodity availability and its impact on product design.
  • Identify gaps in supplier performance and implement targeted improvement plans.
  • Provide strategic leadership, mentoring, and training to build a high-performing supply chain team.
  • Lead contingency and disaster recovery planning for supply chain operations.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Utilize data analysis and market research to enhance strategic sourcing practices.
  • Oversee contract administration, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and optimize overall supply chain management processes, including financial aspects.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive experience in planning (tactical, strategic) and supply chain management.
    • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contract administration.
    • Experience in contingency and disaster recovery planning for manufacturing environments.
    • Familiarity with strategic sourcing processes and procurement technologies.
  • Decision-Making & Leadership:
    • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to assess risks and evaluate alternatives effectively.
    • Experience leading teams, implementing process improvements, and driving results.
  • Technology Proficiency: Knowledge of supply chain management tools, procurement software, and data analysis platforms.
