We are seeking a highly experienced Principle Industrial Hygiene Specialist to lead our industrial hygiene initiatives at our Pensacola site. This role is integral in ensuring the health and safety of our workplace, requiring a proactive approach to managing environmental stressors and compliance with health standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive annual industrial hygiene plans tailored to site-specific needs.
• Conduct thorough assessments and implement controls for chemical, physical, and biological stressors in the workplace.
• Oversee exposure assessment documentation, ensuring both qualitative and quantitative data are meticulously managed.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health practices and regulatory requirements, including conducting compliance audits and program assessments.
• Contribute to the identification and resolution of emerging health and safety issues.
• Administer IH policies and procedures to align with regulatory and industry standards.
• Lead the exposure assessment process and develop initiatives to mitigate occupational health risks.
• Collaborate with workgroups to develop and implement effective compliance systems and procedures.
• Review and provide input on projects to address industrial hygiene concerns efficiently.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new chemicals, ensuring compliance with product stewardship standards.
• Provide expert guidance during emergency situations, including exposure monitoring during incidents like spills or fires.
• Function as the Radiation Safety Officer, maintaining necessary state licensing.
• Collaborate with onsite medical staff to maintain and adapt medical surveillance programs.
• Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies to ensure seamless communication and compliance.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Safety/Health Manager.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Public Health, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in industries such as chemical manufacturing, oil refining, or heavy construction.
• Proven commitment to safety and health standards, with robust knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Certification or working knowledge of OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER, and radiation safety.
• Eligibility for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Desired Certification:

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).

Required Skills:

• Proficient understanding of occupational stressors, including heat stress, chemical exposure, and noise.
• Skilled in chemical sampling techniques and the use of hygiene monitoring equipment.
• Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with excellent communication skills.
• Competent in incident investigation techniques and tools such as Cause Mapping and 5-Why’s.
• Self-motivated and organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with MS Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency with SAP and experience with Cority or similar systems.
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
