Sr Cyber Security Engineer

What you’ll do:

As a Sr Cyber Security Engineer, you will represent the company by designing, implementing, and supporting information security systems and solutions for clients. As well as providing technical assistance to other team members with information security requests and incidents. You will also be expected to be a leader in our organization by mentoring and supporting the daily activities of lesser experienced security engineering team members.

About You:

       Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, and LAN/WAN technologies and monitoring/management applications.

       Must have professional IT and/or Security Certifications i.e.  CISSP, Check Point CCSE/CCMSE, Cisco CCNP Security, Palo Alto Networks PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 7-8

       Expert network systems troubleshooting and technical diagnosis skills.

       Expert Firewall Policy and Rules Management experience i.e.  Check Point, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet

       Expert Cyber/Network Security Policy Management and Monitoring experience such as i.e.  Solarwinds, Netskope, Algosec, Tufin, Skybox, Varonis, Illumio, NAC/Forescout, Tenable

       IT Service Management systems usage experience i.e.  Monday.com, Service Now, BMC, CA, ConnectWise, Jira

       Cloud and Cyber Security experience i.e.  AWS and Azure

       Ability to build clearly defined requirements and convert them into robust technical architecture.

       Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.

       Skill in preparing written communications and materials i.e.  PPT, Visio, Word, and Excel

       Ability to follow clearly defined requirements

       Ability to follow written communications and materials i.e.  Runbooks, Playbooks, Knowledge Base

       Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, active listening, and customer care.

       Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

       Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies, processes and learn quickly.

       Ability to mentor team members and communicate effectively.

Your Responsibilities

       Design, implementation, and support of IT security solutions.

       Including yet not limited to; Cyber, Network, Endpoint, Threat Management security solutions.

       Review and validate security related Change Control requests including initial approval / rejection

       Operate independently as a technical lead on security related projects.

       IT support relating to issues with network security and systems infrastructure

       Document maintenance for all relevant systems infrastructure.

       Perform network security design and configuration assessments of Client environments.

       In partnership with the customer management teams, assist in the architecture and development of IT security solutions aligned with the company’s objectives.

       As a key member of the security team, participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployments.

       Author high-quality technical specifications, documentation and accurately estimate project requirements for customer proposals.

       Assist in the technical development and delivery of proposals.

       Be thorough in contributing to testing strategies and high-quality training documentation.

       Achieve technical certifications aligned with company objectives.

       Assist in the development and delivery of relevant customer business reviews.

       Participate in on-call duties as necessary to provide emergency coverage for customer issues. Emergency coverage is 24x7 and may include but is not limited to participating in remote remediation/diagnostic calls, providing on-site break fix assistance, and working with peers, end users, manufacturers, or other parties to resolve issues.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

       Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT security relates to their business strategy and goals.

       Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.

       Responsible for entering time and expenses in Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) systems as they occur.

       Work through project tickets and phases in ITSM systems as assigned by a SOC or Project Manager.

       Work under the direction of the SOC Manager

       Utilize SOC tickets as service or project tickets in ITSM systems.

       Review IT publications and online materials to remain up to date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.
