Millwright (Maintenance Technician): Mechanical expertise and support the facility in mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets for this large Food Manufacturer just outside London Ontario. The Maintenance Technician (Millwright) performs all duties assigned to maintenance personnel.

*The hired person will be given the opportunity to attain their Refrigeration Operator ‘B’ license and move to Maintenance Tech III role.

Millwright (Maintenance Technician) details:

·        12-hour continental shift, rotating every 2 weeks (the shift runs from 6:30am to 6:30pm and 6:30pm – 6:30am) Sunday to Saturday

·        $43.30/hr

o   plus 0.75 shift premium for any hours worked between 7pm-5am

·         $46.05 full rate once B ticket is obtained.

·        2 weeks vacation

·        3% RRSP match

Millwright (Maintenance Technician) Qualifications

·        High school diploma or GED required.
·        Hold a valid Millwright license (433A) or equivalent experience within food manufacturing.
·        Be willing to attain your Class "B" Operator Refrigeration License in-house.
·        Previous experience as a millwright or maintenance technician in a continuous process manufacturing environment, preferably in food or pharmaceuticals, is preferred.
·        Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and exercise effective judgment.
·        Solid mechanical troubleshooting ability
·        Excellent attendance record and demonstrated reliability, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate effectively.
·        Be able to work overtime if required for vacation coverage, projects and audit preparation.
·        Must be able to work 12 hour rotating continental shift schedule (2 weeks days & 2 weeks nights)

Millwright (Maintenance Technician) Responsibilities

·        Provide mechanical expertise and support the facility in mechanical installation and maintenance of plant equipment and production assets.
·        Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures, identifying the root cause and continuous improvement opportunities.
·        Perform routine Preventative Maintenance and Work Order tasks as requested.
·        Identify high-risk downtime areas in a fast pass production environment and work together to minimize the risks.
·        Complete maintenance reports and logs as required in supporting effective maintenance systems.
·        Maintain good housekeeping practices in work areas and in the maintenance shop.
·        Liaise with other departments within facility, ensuring effective communication.
·        Work effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety.
·        Adherence to all safety & quality policies and procedures
·        Work in Maintenance team with Team Lead and other team member while reporting Maintenance Supervisor
