The Grain Plant Supervisor will manage the full spectrum of plant activities, including production, storage, and distribution of pulse products. The ideal candidate will thrive both independently and within a collaborative team setting, demonstrate strong decision-making capabilities, and effectively manage both people and processes.
Grain Plant Supervisor Details• Monday thru Friday *• Great Base Salary of $60,000 - $80,000* with Bonus!• 3 weeks vacation • Benefits after 90 days• RRSP match*
Grain Plant Supervisor Responsibilities*Reports to the Operations Manager
Operations Oversight:• Supervise the daily operations of the grain facility, encompassing receiving, grading, production, storage,and shipping.• Monitor and control inventory to ensure accurate and timely distribution.• Work with logistics teams to manage the coordination of shipments.Team Management:• Recruit, train, and lead a team of employees, including operators, maintenance staff, and general laborers.• Offer guidance, feedback, and coaching to enhance team performance and motivation.• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Safety and Compliance:• Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.• Stay informed on industry regulations and environmental standards to ensure compliance.• Develop and conduct safety training programs and regular safety meetings.Maintenance and Equipment Management:• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities to optimize operationalefficiency and reduce downtime.• Establish and manage preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life.Quality Assurance:• Work with quality control teams to ensure grains meet quality standards.• Develop and enforce procedures for grain sampling, testing, and quality assurance.Customer Relations:• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, farmers, and customers, ensuring smooth transactions andaddressing any issues.• Deliver excellent customer service to support ongoing business relationships.Reporting and Documentation:• Keep detailed records of grain transactions, inventory, and operational activities.• Prepare and present regular production reports to senior management.
Grain Plant Supervisor Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).• Demonstrated experience in grain elevator operations or similar agricultural processing environments.• Strong leadership and team management skills.• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in the agricultural sector.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Proficiency with computer software for record-keeping and reporting.• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing operational needs.• Physical capability to perform tasks related to grain handling and facility upkeep.• Problem-solving skills, decision-making capacity, technical knowledge, and leadership abilities to effectivelyaddress operational issues, allocate resources, troubleshoot equipment, and inspire their team.
