A well known packing manufacturer, is looking for their newest team member, for Production Supervisor at their Mississauga, ON location.

 

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and motivating a team to meet production schedules and ensure customer commitments are met.

 

Production Supervisor – Role Details

·         Shift: Rotating 8-hour shift every 2 weeks Night shift: 11 pm - 7 am (Sun-Fri), afternoon shift: 3 pm - 11 pm, day shift: 7 am - 3 pm.

·         Rate: Starting Base Salary of $70,000.00*

·         Benefits: Employer Paid – Medical and Dental*

·         Bonus: Weekly and annual bonus incentives - Up to $400 Weekly*

·         RRSP: RRSP matching at 5%

 

Production Supervisor Responsibilities

·         Direct supervision of production crews for the manufacturing of stock.

·         Overseeing shipping staff during off shifts (afternoons and nights), providing guidance and direction when needed.

·         Managing paper set-ups, equipment utilization, and optimizing processes.

·         Contributing to work schedules to ensure the efficient use of manpower, materials, and equipment.

·         Encouraging continuous improvement in both product quality and process efficiency by troubleshooting and resolving issues.

·         Ensuring production equipment is maintained and operating at optimal levels.

·         Fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes fairness, equity, and non-discriminatory practices. Regularly coach, train, discipline, and enforce policies among employees.

·         Managing safety protocols in accordance with company guidelines.

·         Supervising labor in line with management directives and the Collective Labour Agreement.

·         Leading monthly crew meetings to maintain communication and align with operational goals.

·         Achieving production targets related to throughput, downtime, scrap rates, and quality standards.

 

Production Supervisor Qualifications

·         Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in the packaging industry.

·         Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of technical and process-related aspects of corrugated production.

·         Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

·         Leadership: Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team, with a good understanding of roles within the production field.
