Our client, a leading unionized food manufacturer, is currently in search of a highly skilled Sr. QA Manager to join their team in North Mississauga, ON.

The Sr. QA Manager is to oversee and manage the QA department and staff. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards to comply with internal and HACCP Regulations. 

Sr. QA Manager Details

·       Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm *On Site

·       Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000

·       Benefits from Day 1

·       4 weeks holidays

 

Sr. QA Manager Responsibilities

·       Ensure quality compliance system is properly managed and HACCP regulations are applied in the production of Animal Fats and Proteins.

·       Manage all third-party audits including BRC, CFIA Regulatory System Audits, USDA, and customer specific audits. Make sure all necessary documentation is prepared ahead of audits and implement requested corrective actions

·       Ensure the highest standard of food safety by effectively managing and implementing food safety programs such as FSEP, HACCP, CFIA, SFCR, USDA, and FSSIS government regulations.

·       Empower the production staff by delivering comprehensive training on HACCP, GMP, and FSSC to guarantee strict adherence to food safety and quality standards.

·       Collaborate with Sales, Production, Operations, and Customers to develop and champion innovative QA policies and strategies.

·       Guarantee accuracy and compliance by overseeing the technical aspects of product labels, including ingredient listing, nutrition facts, and nutritional claims, to meet regulatory and customer requirements.

·       Manage the supplier food safety program to ensure that incoming raw materials fully comply with regulatory and product specification requirements.

·       Exercise vigilance by overseeing the hold and release program and activities related to non-conformance situations.

·       Thoroughly monitor and investigate non-compliance, quality incidents, and product failures, and implement corrective and preventive measures to comply with CFIA requirements.

·       Lead initiatives such as product recalls, new product launches, trials, and shelf-life studies, and adapt the HACCP plan accordingly.

·       Become a key driver in the continuous development and enhancement of the Quality Management System (QMS) by managing controlled documents, archiving QA records, and spearheading special projects.

·       Foster a high-performance culture by conducting regular performance reviews of team members and tailoring training and assignment plans based on performance.

·       Uphold a culture of excellence and consistency by strictly adhering to all relevant departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.

Sr. QA Manager Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Sciences or similar.

·       Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the field of quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry * Preferred experience in beef manufacturing/processing

·       Minimum of two (2) years of managerial experience

·       Advanced knowledge of food safety systems and regulations

·       Pay close attention to detail and be able to solve problems effectively.

·       Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a drive for improvement.

·       Ability to manage competing priorities and effectively deal with frequent changes, delays, and/or unexpected events

·        Good oral and written communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and stakeholders.
