Job Summary
As a Business Development Account Executive at Chloeta, you will drive growth for utility industry clients by developing tailored solutions and strategic goals. You’ll collaborate with clients to understand their needs, create differentiated offerings, and work with internal teams to craft effective strategies. Your leadership will strengthen client relationships, foster long-term partnerships, and contribute to overall business development success in the utility sector.

Duty Station: Reston, VA (remote/virtual)
Travel: Ability to travel 50% or more of the time to meet with clients and attend events
Duties/Responsibilities
Implements business development strategies and goals for the utility sector.
Drives growth through client engagement, technical differentiation, and tailored contracting solutions.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with utility industry stakeholders and key decision-makers, through virtual and in-person visits.
Presents effectively to clients, stakeholders, and internal leadership.
Identifies business opportunities and partnerships.
Assesses and develops initiatives for new market opportunities.
Collaborates with internal teams and operations to support business development efforts.
Promotes Chloeta’s capabilities to utility clients and prospects.
Identifies, qualifies, and pursues new business opportunities.
Develops and implements annual account management plans and capture strategies for targeted opportunities.
Adapts strategies to align with industry shifts, regulatory changes, and market trends.
Ensures compliance with industry ethics and limitations in client interactions.
Provides regular updates to leadership on business development pipeline and progress.
Documents all business development activities and client meetings in platform.
Represents Chloeta at conferences, industry days, trade shows and client visits.

Required Skills/Abilities
Proven experience and a successful sales track record.
Demonstrated experience with contract captures.
Ability to develop and implement tactical and strategic plans.
Strong relationship and business development skills.
Strong organization, planning, and communication skills.
Excellent knowledge of utility sector procurement activities.
Ability to use automated tools and applications such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Teams to present ideas, information and reports.
Ability to travel 50% or more of the time.
Education and Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree in business or a related field and 10-15 years of experience in utility industry business development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
This position may require frequent travel.
Lifting requirements – this position may be required to lift to 30 pounds while transporting and setting up exhibition booths.
