A leading manufacturing organization committed to excellence and innovation, with a strong global presence, is seeking an Human Resources Manager to join their growing team.

You will play a crucial role in supporting the COO and SVP. ensuring a harmonious and productive work environment. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, you will be responsible for overseeing HR functions, demonstrating expertise in union relations, and managing a small team. 

  1. Union Relations:

    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with union representatives.
    • Navigate and resolve labor-related issues, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
    • Participate in negotiations and discussions to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
    • Understand that there are negotiations with a new collective agreement in the coming months 
  2. Recruitment:

    • Lead the recruitment process, collaborating with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies.
    • Conduct interviews, manage candidate evaluations, and make recommendations for hiring decisions.
  3. Team Management:

    • Supervise and lead a team of 2 HR professionals, providing guidance and support.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the HR department.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and training sessions for team members.
  4. Strategic HR Planning:

    • Work closely with the SVP of Manufacturing to align HR strategies with business objectives.
    • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs to support organizational goals.
  5. Employee Relations:

    • Address employee concerns and grievances promptly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with management to maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  6. Compliance and Legal:

    • Ensure compliance with local and federal labor laws and regulations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing changes as necessary.
  7. Collaboration with Director of HR (US):

    • Share insights, best practices, and collaborate on global HR projects.

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in HR management, with a focus on manufacturing, unionized environments, and recruitment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining, and union relations.
  • Previous experience overseeing a team of HR professionals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) is a plus.
  • Bilingualism an asset
