Job Description

  • Prepare, submit, and manage Medicaid applications in coordination with supervising attorneys.
  • Guide clients through the process of gathering financial, medical, and personal documentation.
  • Review application packets for accuracy and completeness; track timelines and agency responses.
  • Maintain client records in the firm's case management system (Clio) and ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Coordinate annual Medicaid renewals, communicate with clients well before due dates, and prevent disruptions in coverage.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients navigating Medicaid and long-term care benefits, offering compassionate and clear communication.
  • Collaborate with the estate planning team to ensure timely drafting of supporting legal documents (e.g., trusts, POAs, personal service contracts).
  • Communicate with financial institutions, facilities, and government agencies to support case progress and eligibility confirmation.

Qualifications

  • 1-2+ years of experience handling Medicaid or public benefits applications (Florida preferred).
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant degree strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of financial documentation and government eligibility rules.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Professional, empathetic approach to client service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Clio, and digital file systems.
