Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the Ridgeland office.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 2 years’ experience in litigation support / paralegal or legal assistant roles involving drafting pleadings, managing medical records, and handling depositions.

Our client is a well-established litigation practice known for high standards, complex case work, and strong attorney support. They represent clients across diverse legal disputes and require a highly organized and diligent litigation legal assistant/paralegal to support their team.

Job Description

You will support attorneys in all phases of litigation, helping ensure cases are managed efficiently, accurately, and on deadline. Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents
  • Managing, organizing, indexing, and summarizing medical records, pleadings, exhibits, and large volumes of documents
  • Coordinating, scheduling, and assisting with depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial logistics
  • Communicating with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Conducting legal research and fact investigation to assist attorneys in case preparation
  • Maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance with court procedural rules
  • Assisting in trial preparation: preparing trial binders, exhibits, and witness materials

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of litigation legal assistant or paralegal experience (or equivalent)
  • Strong drafting skills: pleadings, motions, discovery documents
  • Proven experience managing medical records: review, summarization, indexing
  • Hands-on experience with depositions: scheduling, transcripts, exhibits
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems, case management software, and document databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
