Ascension Search Partners has been engaged to hire an experienced Senior Associate for a DFW based Private Equity fund.  This role plays a critical part in evaluating and managing the performance of a varied portfolio of investments, with a focus on delivering actionable insights that support value creation and enhance transparency for investors. The right candidate will have a solid analytical foundation, a strong grasp of private investments, and the ability to excel in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.

The role blends strategic oversight with detailed financial analysis in a lean, entrepreneurial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor monthly and quarterly results across diverse asset classes

  • Compare actual performance to budget/underwriting and identify key drivers of deviation

  • Support valuation processes, investor updates, and internal portfolio reviews

  • Refine and enhance analytical models, dashboards, and performance reporting tools

  • Ensure timely and accurate capture of financial and operational data from portfolio companies

  • Create and refine KPI frameworks tailored to each strategy or asset type

  • Improve reporting workflows and assist in automation and system optimization efforts

  • Collaborate with investment teams to support ongoing portfolio reviews and initiatives

  • Assist finance and investor relations teams with portfolio analytics and investor deliverables

  • Surface portfolio-level trends, risks, and areas for optimization

  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or related discipline

  • 5–8 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, FP&A, valuations, or a related investment role

  • Direct experience with portfolio monitoring or investment performance analytics strongly preferred

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Excel required; exposure to performance platforms like Chronograph is a plus

  • Ability to work with large data sets and develop actionable insights from complex information

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
