Manager, Commercial Lines Sales

About the Role
Are you a dynamic insurance professional with a passion for leadership, mentorship, and driving sales success? We’re seeking a Manager, Commercial Lines Sales to play a pivotal role in enabling growth and excellence within our commercial lines team.

Reporting to the VP, Commercial Sales, you’ll focus on sales enablement, technical education, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration—ensuring our producers are equipped to deliver exceptional results both in the field and in the office. You’ll help strengthen our unique sales approach, foster professional development, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Coaching & Mentorship

  • Provide individualized coaching to Commercial Lines Sales Brokers, both in-office and in the field.

  • Facilitate technical and sales skill development through structured training and feedback.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews to identify growth opportunities and guide improvement.

Reinforcing Our Unique Sales Approach

  • Deliver comprehensive training on our established sales methodology.

  • Ensure consistent application of the sales process across all client interactions.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and best practices in client engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between the sales and brokering teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders—such as marketing, employee benefits, claims, and risk management—to support cross-selling opportunities and holistic client solutions.

Sales Strategy & Performance Development

  • Track, analyze, and report on sales activities and performance metrics to support strategic goals.

  • Identify knowledge and skill gaps, and coordinate targeted training initiatives.

  • Collaborate with leadership to refine sales strategies that enhance productivity and growth.

B2B Sales Execution

  • Proactively generate leads and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Effectively close deals to meet or exceed sales targets while maintaining a client-first approach.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance with a proven ability to mentor and lead.

  • RIBO license required; CIP or CRM designation considered an asset.

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance markets, coverage options, and placement strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide others.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching teams through structured sales processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
