Education Resource Specialist – Abdominal Transplant

Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Education Resource Specialist to join our Abdominal Transplant Unit. This critical role offers the chance to design and implement innovative educational programs that directly impact the quality of patient care and professional development for healthcare staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educational Program Development: Create and deliver specialized educational modules for transplant outpatient, ICU, and acute care settings.
  • Clinical Training Support: Provide advanced training and resources for clinical staff, including new-hire orientations and ongoing professional development.
  • Policy Adherence: Collaborate with the team to integrate OPTN and CSM guidelines into training materials, ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Unit Support: Offer clinical and educational assistance across the abdominal transplant program, including SICU and outpatient services.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Report to leadership and facilitate structured 3-day training programs for staff.

Qualifications

Licensure:

  • Active RN license in Texas or multi-state compact RN license (must be clear of stipulations/disciplinary actions).

Education:

  • Master’s degree (preferably in education) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
  • 3 years of Kidney Transplant Coordinator experience (mandatory and non-negotiable).
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Abdominal (kidney) Transplant
  • clinical education background

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines.
  • Certification as a Transplant Coordinator.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates who are clear and transparent about their unit, shift, and location preferences.
