Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in civil infrastructure and transportation development, is seeking a skilled Heavy Civil Estimator to join their dynamic team in northern Arizona. Position Overview:The selected Estimator will collaborate closely with the estimating and project management teams to prepare competitive, accurate bids on complex infrastructure projects. The role involves comprehensive take-offs, software-based estimating, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and bid review with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop estimates for infrastructure construction projects including removals, site grading, concrete structures, drainage systems, asphalt surfaces, and aviation-related scopes such as taxiways and aprons.
Conduct site evaluations and review engineering specifications and subsurface reports.
Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers; coordinate DBE/SBE inclusion as required.
Use HCSS HeavyBid and related estimating software for scope buildout, logic, and cost calculations.
Input vendor data and subcontractor pricing into estimating systems; coordinate bid submission documents.
Lead pre-bid reviews with senior estimating and executive teams.
Finalize and submit bid packages under the guidance of the estimating lead.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline OR equivalent field experience.
At least 5 years of estimating experience specific to roadways, airports, grading, and structural concrete within heavy civil construction.
Proficient in estimating tools such as HCSS, HeavyBid, AGTEK, OST, Primavera P6, and Excel.
Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
High attention to detail and communication clarity—both verbal and written.
