Our client is currently seeking a Solution Architect – Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to join their innovative team supporting the Kawneer business unit. This position will be based in Norcross, GA, and is critical in designing, leading, and deploying next-generation MES applications using the Ignition software platform and related industrial technologies.
Design and implement MES applications tailored to manufacturing operations using Ignition software and authorized third-party modules.
Establish IT infrastructure tailored to support robust, scalable MES platforms.
Lead architecture development across SCADA/control systems, integrating elements such as databases, scripting environments (e.g., Python), and reporting tools.
Deliver solutions leveraging Ignition Perspective, Ignition Edge/Enterprise, and Ignition foundation drivers, ensuring seamless shop floor connectivity.
Oversee collaboration with IT service providers supporting shopfloor systems.
Define and promote system-wide standards across multiple operational locations.
Build solutions using backend manufacturing technologies, including compute hardware, virtualization platforms, operating systems, networking, and databases.
Serve as a subject matter expert for application development and system architecture within manufacturing environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Ignition 8.1 Gold Certification (Inductive Automation) – Required
2–5 years of experience architecting and building MES/SCADA solutions in manufacturing environments.
Proficiency with Python programming and database interface design.
Demonstrated capability with Tag Providers, Ignition Perspective, Ignition Edge/Enterprise, and system integration via Ignition foundation drivers.
Strong skills in problem-solving, debugging, and technical analysis.
Understanding of industrial control systems and manufacturing backend infrastructure (hardware, virtualization, networking, OSs, databases).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in cross-functional teams.
Hands-on exposure to control/SCADA system development and industrial computing environments.
Experience in MES implementations within the manufacturing domain.
Familiarity with managed services in IT/OT integration.
