Our Award Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in aerospace, aviation, and defense, is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Environmental Remediation for an on-site role in Sacramento, CA. This position will be responsible for managing a diverse range of environmental remediation projects while providing leadership and strategic direction to minimize environmental risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage various environmental remediation projects, including responses related to CERCLA and RCRA corrective actions, hazardous waste treatment unit investigations, and overseeing site closures.
  • Coordinate the remediation of legacy sites, working closely with internal teams and external regulatory agencies to ensure minimal regulatory and compliance impacts.
  • Lead negotiations and ensure adherence to regulatory orders, permits, and directives, while managing compliance at multiple locations.
  • Handle the financial assurance obligations for the company's environmental portfolio, preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, including environmental liability reserves and budget projections in line with accounting standards such as Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Oversee interdisciplinary teams, including external professionals and contractors, ensuring cost-effective and timely project execution.
  • Present detailed technical reports and information to public agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders in both written form and public forums.
  • Integrate safety and environmental health (SH&E) programs into all remediation efforts, including conducting job hazard analyses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 10 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 16+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing complex environmental projects, including budgeting, coordinating, and executing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of environmental liability recognition and reporting standards for publicly traded companies.
  • A Professional Engineer or Certified Professional Geologist designation is highly desirable.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
