Our Award-Winning Client, located in Danbury, Connecticut, and operating within the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry, is seeking a Production Maintenance Mechanic. Job Summary:The Production Maintenance Mechanic will install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment. They will be responsible for diagnosing equipment failures, replacing defective parts, and performing troubleshooting by using detailed diagrams, drawings, specifications, and manuals. This position will also involve maintaining logs for repairs and preventive maintenance. Using various hand and power tools, the mechanic may, under supervision, redesign or modify electrical, mechanical, optical, or vacuum systems for integration into existing manufacturing equipment. Estimation of labor and equipment costs and preparation of requisitions may also be required.

Essential Duties:

  • Carry out preventive maintenance and emergency repair activities on manufacturing machinery.
  • Utilize technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical, mechanical, or machining systems.
  • Assist in the installation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Regularly inspect the operation of manufacturing equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Install new units or replacement parts following detailed specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Manage data input in computerized systems to track maintenance activities.
  • Support the Maintenance Department in handling general building upkeep tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Vocational or technical education is preferred.
  • 0-2 years of maintenance experience in a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of cGMP procedures, FDA regulations, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Competence in preventive maintenance and calibration practices.
  • Experience managing and maintaining computer database systems.

Candidate Details:This role is best suited for someone with 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar field, preferably in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills and be able to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Management experience is not necessary, and there is no travel involved.
