Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in waste management and energy recovery solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Plant Engineer to join their team. Operating across the country, our client is known for its innovation, excellence, and dedication to sustainability.

This position offers the opportunity to manage and direct critical engineering, operational, and maintenance projects for their Minneapolis facility. The role focuses on maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring safety, and driving environmental responsibility through technical expertise and effective project management.

Position Overview:The selected individual will lead diverse initiatives at the facility, including capital projects, facility upgrades, and scheduled maintenance outages. Responsibilities include managing technical teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution. This role is integral to optimizing facility performance while minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multi-disciplinary Capital and O&M projects, managing timelines, budgets, and quality control.
  • Partner with facility leadership to implement best practices for operations and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot plant systems, process control computers, and equipment to optimize reliability and efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance for boiler and pressure vessel codes as well as maintenance standards.
  • Inspect equipment during outages, recommending actionable solutions for repair or enhancement.
  • Evaluate and direct system operating changes to address operational challenges.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing project status, including schedules and costs.
  • Collaborate with industry peers to incorporate innovative solutions into asset reliability projects.
  • Provide critical technical support during scheduled maintenance periods, working closely with operations staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in project engineering, with an emphasis on power generation or waste-to-energy facilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and procurement.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clear team coordination and reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively under time constraints.
  • Expertise in using software tools for reporting, documentation, and presentations.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug, alcohol, and background checks.

Candidate Details:

  • Experience: 7–10 years in related fields, with power generation or waste-to-energy industry experience preferred.
  • Management Experience: Not required.
