Our Award Winning Client, known for its innovative approach to healthcare and national presence, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to be an integral part of their Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). This team consists of both clinical and non-clinical professionals who collaborate to provide patient-centered care. The COTA will play a pivotal role in assisting with care plans, providing updates on participant conditions, and ensuring the highest quality of care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will deliver rehabilitative occupational therapy services aimed at enhancing participants' independence, safety, and performance in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). This includes supporting the implementation of individualized care plans designed by the Occupational Therapist. The role involves working in both clinical and home settings, promoting patient progress through therapeutic activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Administer therapeutic interventions and treatment programs based on plans established by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist in obtaining vital signs and conducting strength and range of motion tests.
  • Collaborate with other rehabilitation team members to coordinate treatment activities and implement individualized participant plans.
  • Schedule participant treatments, clinical visits, and manage billing processes.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and tracking of therapy equipment.
  • Execute and document therapy interventions as outlined in care plans, focusing on techniques to enhance muscle re-education, cognitive and perceptual-motor function, balance, endurance, and overall independence in ADLs.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid California OTA license or proof of license eligibility.
  • Reliable transportation is required for home care visits.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with elderly or frail populations in a clinical setting as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Knowledge in delivering occupational therapy to elderly individuals with complex needs, ensuring effective treatment.

Candidate Details:This position requires at least 1-2 years of experience working with elderly or frail populations in a clinical setting, particularly in an occupational therapy capacity. The ideal candidate will hold an Associate’s Degree, possess a valid California Occupational Therapy Assistant License, and demonstrate a commitment to patient care and safety. No management experience is required, and no travel is necessary.
