About the Role:

Join our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in housing finance, where you'll contribute to vital work aimed at improving homeownership and rental housing accessibility across the U.S. The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division is seeking a Senior Data Governance Specialist to oversee data management practices and information risk governance. This role requires a sharp focus on compliance, attention to detail, and collaboration across business and technology teams. You will be part of the first line of defense for managing information risk and data governance initiatives within I&CM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of data quality strategies and governance initiatives, ensuring they align with enterprise standards.
  • Identify and safeguard I&CM's critical data, ensuring the proper protection of sensitive information through robust controls and governance.
  • Collaborate with I&CM teams and the Business and Technology Office (BTO) to define and execute information risk management strategies.
  • Administer the I&CM Community within Collibra, ensuring timely updates and maintenance of metadata relationships, data lineage, and workflows.
  • Develop management reports and insights related to information risk and data governance activities.
  • Proactively identify and drive efficiencies within I&CM’s data ecosystem, advocating for the strategic value of data as a business asset.
  • Maintain compliance with metadata capture requirements across processes, business terms, and trusted data sources.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 5-8 years of experience in data governance or information risk management within the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, Finance, or a related field.
  • Practical experience with Collibra, Tableau, and Alteryx for metadata management and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data lineage and metadata capture.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and their integration into data governance strategies.
  • Proven experience crafting and managing policies, procedures, and standards related to data governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data issues in clear, understandable terms.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and APIs is a plus.
