Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized industry leader, is seeking a Senior Supplier Technical Engineer (STE) to support its Investment Castings Supply Chain. This role involves ensuring technical excellence across all purchased components from New Product Introduction (NPI) through their full lifecycle, with a focus on quality assurance, process optimization, and supplier collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned purchased components, ensuring quality from development through production.
  • Address complex supplier technical challenges by providing innovative solutions and strategies.
  • Engage with suppliers to review technical requirements, drawings, and configurations, ensuring alignment with production needs.
  • Oversee tooling management, quality documentation, and engineering change processes to maintain product integrity.
  • Analyze supplier quality performance, identify trends, and drive improvement initiatives using root cause analysis and corrective action strategies.
  • Play a key role in supplier selection and qualification, partnering with sourcing teams to evaluate technical capabilities and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineering on Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI).
  • Participate in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to mitigate design and process risks.
  • Lead Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and develop First Article Production Inspection Test Plans (FAPITP) in coordination with engineering teams.
  • Support design engineers by assisting with Reject Notices (RNs) and Requests for Technical Authorization (RTAs).

Qualifications & Technical Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field with 3–5+ years of experience, or 10 years of relevant manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering practices, process planning, non-destructive testing (NDT), tooling concepts, and functional test procedures.
  • Expertise in Investment Castings, Sand Castings, and applicable Machining Processes preferred.
  • Well-versed in Lean Manufacturing principles, quality management systems, and Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred but can be attained post-hire).
  • Experience with statistical analysis, problem-solving tools, and corrective action methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Design of Experiment (DOE) and project management strategies.
  • Understanding of Solar manufacturing processes, including turning, milling, and component production techniques.
