A leading international Professional Services firm is seeking a Media Relations Manager to increase visibility for core industry groups and leading practices by building awareness of key partners, capabilities, and offerings at the intersection of regulatory, litigation, and transactional expertise.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media relations and communications, preferably within a law firm, media outlet, or professional services organization. This individual should be proactive, highly motivated, comfortable working with senior-level professionals, and eager to join a fast-paced team working on high-profile matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute media relations strategies, leveraging AI-driven tools and analytics to optimize outreach.

  • Secure media placements in targeted legal, business, policy, and technology publications, including international, national, and regional outlets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with press contacts across relevant sectors.

  • Collaborate with partners to identify and develop proactive media opportunities.

  • Prepare attorneys for media interviews, participate in reporter meetings, and provide substantive feedback.

  • Draft press releases, media pitches, pre-briefing documents, and other communications materials.

  • Produce high-visibility competitive analysis reports.

  • Work closely with business development and brand/editorial teams to identify newsworthy matters, industry trends, and client successes to promote.

  • Support internal and crisis communications strategies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of eight years of media/public relations or strategic communications experience, preferably in a law firm, media outlet, or professional services environment.

  • Proven track record of securing impactful media coverage and measuring ROI, including experience with AI-powered analytics tools.

  • Strong existing media relationships and ability to cultivate new ones.

  • Experience creating and executing communications plans.

  • Journalism background a plus.

  • Familiarity with PR/media tools such as Meltwater.

  • High-level media relations counsel experience, particularly in sectors such as life sciences, financial services, consumer products and retail, technology/telecom/media, or aerospace/defense/national security.

  • Excellent writing, pitching, and storytelling skills for earned media opportunities.

  • Strong knowledge of digital and social media.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
