About the Role

We’re expanding our Private Client Services team to keep pace with growing demand from high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational families, and closely held business owners. Depending on experience, you’ll come in at Senior or Manager level and own a book of complex trust, estate, and individual returns while mentoring staff and partnering directly with Partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Form 1041, 706, 709, and complex individual returns (federal & Texas)

  • Lead planning engagements involving wealth transfer, trust structuring, and estate tax minimization

  • Research and draft memoranda on fiduciary-income, gift-tax, and generation-skipping questions

  • Serve as primary contact for clients, attorneys, and investment advisors; translate technical findings into actionable advice

  • Supervise, train, and review work of junior associates and seniors; provide real-time coaching

  • Monitor engagement budgets, billing, and realization; identify upsell or cross-service opportunities

  • Stay current on federal and state legislative changes; present key updates to the team and clients

Qualifications

  • CPA license (or JD/LL.M. with strong tax focus)

  • 4–10+ years of public-accounting experience, with concentration in trusts & estates and HNWcompliance/planning

  • Advanced knowledge of fiduciary accounting principles and estate/gift tax code

  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and delegate effectively

  • Strong client-facing communication skills and a knack for turning technical language into clear guidance

Preferred Extras

  • Experience with CCH Axcess or similar tax prep software

  • STEP, AEP, or similar credential

  • Exposure to complex charitable vehicles (CRUTs, CLATs, private foundations)
