Recruiter Hustle is partnering with a leading public company to find an exceptional Controller. In this dynamic role, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial operations.  You'll lead a talented team, contribute strategic insights, and champion continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and Motivate: Supervise, train, and coach a high-performing accounting team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Financial Expertise: Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. This includes accounts payable, payroll, revenue, and accounts receivable.
• Strategic Impact: Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency within the accounting department.
• Embrace Innovation: Assist in the design and implementation of new financial systems and best practices.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance development.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.
• Stay abreast of new accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance.
• Partner with other departments on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Active CPA license.
• Seven years of experience in professional accounting/auditing management with a proven track record of success.
• Strong technical accounting background, preferably in governmental enterprise fund accounting, this position requires GASB expertise.
• Proven experience with municipal bond and pension accounting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and results-oriented with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
