We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team.

Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing invoices, vendor payments, and maintaining accurate financial records for the company. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely payments to vendors and subcontractors while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices for accuracy and completeness, verifying against purchase orders, contracts, and receiving reports.
• Research and resolve discrepancies in invoices before processing payments.
• Ensure timely payments to vendors and subcontractors according to contract terms.
• Maintain accounts payable databases and filing systems.
• Reconcile bank statements and accounts payable reports.
• Communicate effectively with vendors regarding invoices and payment inquiries.
• Prepare accounts payable reports for management review.
• Stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry.
• Associate's degree in accounting or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with construction accounting software (a plus).
