Recruiter Hustle is excited to announce a new Data Engineering position with our client company in Irvine, CA. Our client is a $400M global technology manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a robust data foundation for innovative solutions.

As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts to design and implement a comprehensive data strategy. You'll be responsible for integrating new data sources, developing efficient data pipelines, and ensuring data quality and accessibility. Your expertise will be instrumental in empowering teams to leverage data effectively and drive impactful business value.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an ontology based on business needs and available data.
  • Integrate new data sources and establish seamless two-way communication between Foundry and external systems.
  • Develop data pipelines to transform both structured and unstructured data for optimal utilization.
  • Utilize PySpark and Pipeline Builder to create new datasets, build data objects, and optimize data transformation processes.
  • Implement robust support structures for production pipelines, ensuring smooth operation.
  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot critical issues like data quality and staleness.
  • Identify opportunities to transform data insights into interactive operational workflows, maximizing business impact.
  • Maintain and enhance data applications as usage evolves and requirements shift.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience (ideally customer-facing) with a passion for data engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark (or strong willingness to learn).
  • Familiarity with TypeScript (or strong willingness to learn).
  • Experience with SQL (querying, data modeling) and collaborative software development practices.
  • Working knowledge of distributed computing concepts (Hadoop, Spark).
  • General understanding of relational databases and Git version control.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and user feedback gathering techniques.
  • The ideal candidate would be someone with a physics degree with  data engineering/management, data science, or database/programming experience.
