Our client is seeking an experienced Product Manager with a background in microscopy to support their imaging / microscopy department. You will be responsible for working with their Canadian sales specialists and clients, providing demonstrations and technical support. You will also keep yourself and the company up to date regarding competitors' products, and helping with positioning and market analysis.
This position reports to the head of this department.
You can be based in either Toronto or Montreal.
French English bilingual greatly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Choose product strategies that drive will increase market share and differentiate company products from the competition.
- Provide quotes and excellent customer service.
- Carry out product installation, technical support and troubleshooting.
- Together with marketing and office teams, provide information on products, and keep website updated as new products emerge.
- Representing the company at trade shows / related.
- Liaise with KOLs in the microscopy industry.
- Use your knowledge of slide scanners to help their Pathology department.
- Endeavour to develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates company from the competition.
REQUIREMENTS:
- B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biology / Life Sciences.
- 5 or more years in a similar sales, product manager, application or imaging specialist role.
- Background working in microscope sales and service, and with users.
- Proven technical background in confocal and microarray microscopy, and slide scanners.
- Experience with microscopy product management, demos, and tech support.
- Hands-on understanding of lab R&D principles.
- Experience providing tech support to clients.
- Proven ability to work with sales, marketing, customers.
- Able to multitask, work autonomously and in a team, and manage projects.
One of the Following:
- Someone who presently works for a microscopy vendor. OR
- Someone who manages a microscopy core facility, thus having an in depth knowledge of microscopes.
