Our Award-Winning Client, a recognized leader in the industry with national operations, is seeking a Reliability Maintenance and Engineering Manager for their Tennessee location. This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Reliability Maintenance and Engineering departments, ensuring that all projects align with safety, quality, and operational goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive project success from concept to completion while mentoring staff and providing innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee multiple engineering and maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost, and throughput goals across various departments.
  • Manage the development of project scopes, specifications, and solicitations for bids, ensuring successful execution from design and installation to startup and close-out.
  • Provide technical expertise and engineering assistance to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), production, technical, and maintenance teams to resolve process issues.
  • Oversee capital and major maintenance spending, ensuring authorized funds are fully utilized.
  • Supervise teams across Plant Engineering, Furnace Maintenance, Contracted Engineering Services, and Facilities Maintenance to ensure project success.
  • Implement solutions for safety, environmental, and process improvements while assisting with long-term strategic planning and capital investment projects.
  • Mentor and train engineering staff, plant personnel, and maintenance teams to ensure growth and development.
  • Administer budgets and proposals, ensuring expenses align with project goals, and provide justification for any out-of-budget spending.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit standards (e.g., ISO, IATF), maintaining consistency in plant operations.
  • Coordinate the preparation of cost estimates, capital requests, and project requisitioning while managing the capital budget and project timelines.
  • Ensure contractor safety practices are followed, coordinating equipment shutdowns with production and managing installation and startup processes.

Technical Skills and Competencies:

  • Expertise in managing engineering projects related to safety, quality, and cost optimization.
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs tailored to the plant's needs.
  • Proficiency in handling capital improvement programs, equipment requisitioning, and contractor supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to design process improvements for manufacturing efficiency.
  • Experience with developing plant maintenance strategies and ensuring compliance with audit standards.
  • Ability to provide technical support in casting, rolling, mill finishing, or facilities management.
  • Skills in managing budgets, preparing RFAs, and driving cost reductions through method improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering
  • 10 + years of experience in heavy manufacturing industry, preferably metals' industry.
  • 5-9 years' experience required in project management.
  • 3-5 years' experience preferred in supervisory role.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10-12 years required of experience and expertise in one of the following specialized technical areas: casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, mill finishing or facilities preferred.
  • 10-12 years' experience required in project management.
  • 8 + years' experience preferred in supervisory role.
