Position: RN, Clinical Manager - Abdominal Transplant

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a dedicated Clinical Manager for its Abdominal Transplant Program to lead a skilled team in delivering transformative care within the future of transplant medicine. In this pivotal role, you will oversee clinical operations, ensuring the highest standards of care for liver and kidney transplant patients, while also advancing strategic initiatives within transplant services.

This role involves leadership in the department’s daily operations, managing a team of approximately 60 employees, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. Our Client’s Abdominal Transplant Center is seeking an individual with extensive transplant experience to join their dynamic team and contribute to the development and implementation of impactful training programs for both patients and healthcare professionals.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of professional nursing required, or a documented degree plan and timeframe for BSN completion.
  • For positions in Magnet-designated or Magnet-pursuing hospitals, a minimum of a BSN is required at the time of hire or promotion.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current State of Texas RN license or active multi-state compact RN license, clear of stipulations or disciplinary actions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Professional certification in a clinical area or management is preferred.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on the department’s needs.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

Must-Haves:

  • Active RN Texas License, or active multi-state compact RN license, clear of stipulations or disciplinary actions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and a minimum of 2 years in acute care experience.
  • 3 years of experience as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Updated resume with accurate job history dates, units worked, and a consistent work history. Any job-hopping must be explained (e.g., relocation, promotion/growth).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Clear preference for unit, shift, and location to ensure job satisfaction, as commitment to chosen shift is crucial for long-term success.
  • 2+ years of strong Med-Surg experience.
  • Effective communication skills.

Additional Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in the liver/kidney transplant clinical area.
  • 1 or more years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Texas Board of Nursing standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and direct patient care as needed, maintaining high standards and supporting continuity of care.
  • Patient-Centered Collaboration: Partner with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure positive patient outcomes and exceptional quality of care.
  • Program Development: Design and evaluate clinical protocols, procedures, and best practices for optimal transplant services and patient outcomes.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, retain, and develop staff, providing mentorship and performance feedback. Conduct timely and effective performance reviews.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs, continuous improvement processes, and delivery of client-centered outcomes.
  • Resource Allocation: Lead decision-making on resource needs, supporting efficiency and performance improvements.
  • Educational Leadership: Develop learning opportunities for staff and foster a culture of continuous growth and professional development.
  • Strategic Planning: Engage in program planning and expansion to meet evolving patient and healthcare community needs.
