Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Network Cabling Engineer with extensive experience in low voltage cabling systems, particularly with Panduit certifications in copper and fiber. The ideal candidate will have expertise in running and terminating cabling, installing access points, certifying cable performance, and troubleshooting network issues. This role is essential for ensuring optimal network performance and reliability in our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Low Voltage Cabling Installation:Run, terminate, and manage Panduit or similar low voltage copper and fiber cabling systems. Adhere to structured cabling practices, including installation of pathways, racks, and effective cable management.

  • Access Point Installation:Install and configure wireless access points (APs) using the appropriate cabling infrastructure, ensuring optimal network performance and coverage.

  • Cable Certification and Testing:Utilize certification tools (e.g., Fluke Networks) to test and certify cable performance, ensuring proper signal quality and compliance with industry standards. Maintain a Level 3 Certification for Panduit in both copper and fiber installations.

  • Fiber Termination and Testing:Exhibit expert-level experience in fiber termination and testing tools, including fusion splicing, to ensure high-quality connections and reliability.

  • Lift Operation:Operate lifts safely to access elevated areas for installation tasks, adhering to safety protocols while handling overhead cabling.

  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:Diagnose and resolve issues related to low voltage cabling, network connectivity, and performance. Utilize certification tools and other diagnostic equipment effectively.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Certification for Panduit in both copper and fiber installations.
  • Proven experience with low voltage cabling installation, termination, and management.
  • Skilled in installing and configuring wireless access points to optimize network performance.
  • Familiarity with cable certification tools (e.g., Fluke Networks) for testing and certifying cable performance.
  • Expertise in fiber termination and testing tools, including fusion splicing.
  • Experience operating lifts to access elevated areas for installation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 3 weeks per month for 5-7 days each (all expenses paid)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in network cabling and wireless network installation.
  • Additional certifications such as BICSI Installer/Technician, CCENT, or CCNA Wireless.

  • Flexibility to work in various environments, including office buildings, data centers, and industrial sites.
