Job Summary 

The Environmental Manager oversees the temporary environmental controls enacted during a Modernization project at Tinker Air Force Base. The Environmental Manager is directly responsible for coordinating on site compliance with federal, state, local, and installation requirements during construction projects.

Job Classification: Permanent; Full Time  

Duty Station: Midwest City, OK 

Compensation: 

Chloeta reserves the right to offer any candidate above or below the listed compensation amount based on experience or business needs. 

  • $80,000-$100,000 per year  
  • Exempt 

 

Duties/Responsibilities 

  • Ensures compliance with Hazardous Waste Program requirements (including hazardous waste handling, storage, manifesting, and disposal)
  • Implement the Environmental Protection Plan (EPP)  
  • Ensures environmental permits are obtained, maintained, and closed out; ensure compliance with Stormwater Program requirements 
  • Ensures compliance with Hazardous Materials (storage, handling, and reporting) requirements; and coordinates any remediation of regulated substances (lead, asbestos, PCB transformers) 
  • Ensures waste segregation and storage compatibility requirements are met; inspect and manage Satellite Accumulation areas
  • Ensures only authorized personnel add wastes to containers  
  • Ensures onsite personnel are trained in 40 CFR requirements in accordance with their position requirements
  • Coordinate removal of waste containers 
  • Maintains the Environmental Records binder and required documentation, including environmental permits compliance and close-out

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Experience in Environmental Compliance Assurance/Management System, Stormwater Management, Wastewater Management, Air Quality Management, Storage Tank Management, Environment, Safety and Occupational Health Council, Cultural Resources Management, Natural Resources Management, Integrated Solid Waste Management, Qualified Recycling Program, Hazardous Materials/ Waste Management, Environmental Plans Management, Comprehensive Asset Management and Environmental Restoration.  
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check for government security clearance.  
  • Ability to monitor changes in federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

 

Education and Experience 

  • Required: Master’s Degree or higher in Environmental Engineering or Management from an accredited university or college. 
  • Required: at least three (3) or more years of relevant working experience in Environmental Engineering or Management. 
  • Required: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Oklahoma.  

 

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Occasional field work (monitoring/surveying) may be required.  
  • This job operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc.
