Support vendor assurance, including supplier audits, capacity assessment, corrective actions, and performance tracking

Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure product quality

Develop inspection plans, control plans, and other quality documentation to support production and customer programs

Collect, analyze, and report quality metrics and trends to identify improvement opportunities

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, supply chain, and sales teams to resolve issues and support new product introductions

Participate in design reviews and advise engineers on quality assurance for new and existing products

Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards

Train and mentor employees on quality processes and continuous improvement tools

Establish and maintain Control Plans to prevent process backsliding

Provide technical support to all product acceptance functions and quality-related projects

Drive continuous improvement across QCDSM areas: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises Quality Coordinator(s)

Plans, assigns, and prioritizes work for the quality team

Interviews, hires, trains, and develops employees
\n
Provides regular performance feedback and fosters a quality-focused culture

Supports departmental managers in meeting quality performance and improvement objectives \n
\n

Qualifications:

\n
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field preferred (experience may substitute for education)
\n
3–5 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
\n
Experience with ISO 9001, APQP, and quality tools such as FMEA, Fishbone, Pareto, and Process Mapping
\n
Experience with Zero Defects principles and Quality Improvement Processes (QIP)
\n
Knowledge of supplier quality management, including audits and 3rd-party certifications (UL, CSA, ETL)
\n
Proficiency with measuring tools, inspection equipment, and statistical analysis methods
\n
Strong leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
\n
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and with suppliers
\n
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality-related software or databases
\n
\n
\n
Work Environment & Physical Demands:\n
\n
\n
\n
Primarily office and manufacturing floor environment
\n
Frequent exposure to production areas with moderate noise and moving mechanical parts
\n
Regular walking and standing; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, and fumes/airborne particles
\n
Must be able to visually inspect components and finished products using precision measurement tools

Travel up to 10% possible, including international or weekend travel as projects demand

The Quality Engineer serves as the administrator of the quality system for the location.
