Ascension Search Partners is engaged by a private equity backed high growth professional services company in the DFW metroplex to hire a financially savvy Corporate Controller. This broad Controller position is not your average nuts and bolts Controllership role. While this role will lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls, it will also serve as a strategic financial business partner across the organization, playing a key role in financial planning, risk management, M&A integration, and operational excellence. The Controller will report to the CFO and will be highly visible to members of senior leadership and the PE sponsor.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, payroll, and tax
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (U.S. GAAP)
  • Support M&A due diligence and post-close integration
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting
  • Serve as the point person in treasury and banking matters
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and compliance processes
  • Manage financial audits, tax filings, and treasury functions
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team
  • Lead ERP, reporting, and process improvement initiatives

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA required)
  • MBA or Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ in leadership with a foundation in Big 4 public accounting preferred
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems
  • Proven success in mid-sized PE backed companies preferably in the manufacturing, industrials, or distribution sectors
  • Experience with M&A and ERP implementation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
