As senior leader of Lloyds and the MGA department, you will be a member of the leadership team and responsible to ensure quality risk selection, comprehensive submissions, and timely processing of all related and required underwriting material/information.

Primary Responsibilities
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to our Lloyd’s Underwriting guidelines. Analyze property and liability requests for quotes, renewals, policy. Process invoice and issue policy documents, endorsements.
It is expected that this team leader will demonstrate leadership, planning, process and project management skills that support the brokerages corporate plans.
This position is responsible for the setting and monitoring the ongoing delivery of industry leading customer service.
Development of service standards that match the class of business and customer expectations.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all defined underwriting, processing and billing
guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Strategic
Support optimal business retention, profitable growth, productivity and efficiency.
Alleviate barriers to excellent customer care.
Nurture the underwriting and broker relationship.
Provide underwriting and service insight into all ongoing and required projects.
Provide business and underwriting leadership to the Executive Team
Participate in the formation of annual strategic business and related business plans.
Attend industry functions and develop and maintain industry competitive intelligence as it relates to changes and developing trends.
Operational Management
How You Will Affect the Business
Working under limited direction and within delegated authority guidelines, underwrite new and renewal commercial business on behalf of Lloyd’s Syndicates and Domestic markets.
Underwrite risks through an in-depth review of the underwriting data, and according to underwriting guidelines, contract authority limits and company standards.
Write multi-line and package business of various risk size and complexity.
Support ancillary personal lines products as required.
Quickly and efficiently, analyze new business for risk profitability by assessing exposures and hazards.
Profitably manage a renewal book with a focus on retaining desired business through appropriate risk
selection, coverage negotiation, and pricing adequacy.
Maintain the long‐term profitability of a portfolio of accounts, regardless of market conditions, within the bounds of internal underwriting guidelines and individual underwriting authority.
Adhere to compliance guidelines, and procedures.
Manage relationships with brokers and act as a dedicated resource as needed and required. Provide business development support.
Expeditiously respond to brokers to maintain our corporate customer service philosophy.
Participate in broker visits (virtual and in-person).
Monitor and assess competitive factors in the market and keep informed of changing market
conditions.
Customer Service Skills
Provide exceptional service to our broker partners; act as a solution provider and as a key contact to our client base to manage relationships and discuss quotes.
Demonstrated track record of customer service orientation and proven ability to foster strong business relationships.
Comfortable communicating with clients (in person, email, and telephone inquiries).
Answer telephones promptly and courteously.
Provide quotes and answer policy coverage questions in an efficient, professional and friendly manner.
Follow up with clients’ needs in a timely manner.
Maintain good relationships with broker clients.
Qualifications
Completion of University degree / College diploma / or equivalent insurance-related education and experience.
Professional industry designation (e.g. CIP, FCIP, or CRM) or actively pursuing same.
1-2 years of personal lines underwriting experience.
MGA experience is an asset.
Strong sales and marketing skills a must, business acumen, interest in continued education and professional development.
Demonstrated analytical and risk underwriting skills that applies directly to selection, pricing, account handling and book management, including industry trends, legal, regulatory and jurisdictional issues.
Experience with policy wording development.
A passion for continuous improvement and proven ability to lead and execute change successfully.
Business and client focus with a strong industry reputation.
Strong analytical/logical thinking skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
Knowledge and proficiency in the use of underwriting tools, applications, and guidelines.
