Sales Manager, Commercial Lines Insurance

Are you a seasoned commercial insurance professional with a passion for leadership and mentorship? We're seeking a Sales Manager – Commercial Lines to support and elevate a high-performing commercial sales team. This role focuses on sales enablement, strategic development, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive long-term growth and success.

Reporting to the Vice President of Commercial Sales, the Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in reinforcing a unique sales methodology, promoting comprehensive client solutions, and ensuring producers are well-equipped to succeed—both in the office and in the field.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Coaching & Mentorship

  • Provide individualized coaching and support to Commercial Lines Sales Brokers, both in-office and in the field.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to help producers enhance their sales capabilities and confidence.

Sales Strategy & Performance Development

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions with leadership to align sales efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Track, evaluate, and analyze sales activity to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Recommend and coordinate training programs to address skill gaps and elevate team effectiveness.

Sales Methodology

  • Champion consistent use of the organization’s unique sales approach.
  • Ensure methodology is fully embedded into all sales processes and client interactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with key internal teams (marketing, employee benefits, claims, risk management) to support cross-sell initiatives.
  • Encourage delivery of holistic insurance solutions tailored to client needs.

Lead Generation & B2B Sales

  • Proactively source and nurture leads through multiple channels.
  • Effectively close new business opportunities to meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance, with a strong interest in leadership and mentorship.
  • RIBO license required; CIP or CRM designation is considered an asset.
  • Deep understanding of commercial insurance markets, products, and placement strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and lead others.
  • Experience in implementing and promoting a structured sales process.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
