Job Title: CTDOT Inspector – Night Shift (Paving)

Location: Dexter Coffin Bridge, East Windsor, CT

Our Award-Winning Client, a nationally recognized leader in infrastructure inspection and transportation development, is actively seeking a qualified Inspector to support overnight paving operations on a prominent Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) project. This opportunity is ideal for individuals holding active NETTCP certification and possessing a solid background in state-regulated road and bridge construction environments.

Position Overview:This night-shift position focuses on the inspection of hot mix asphalt paving during nighttime operations on a high-profile bridge rehabilitation project. The selected individual will ensure compliance with engineering specifications, document field activity, and monitor overall quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections during overnight paving operations on a major CTDOT bridge project

• Verify contractor compliance with CTDOT standards, drawings, and project-specific criteria

• Record field observations, materials usage, equipment data, and manpower details

• Enforce safety procedures and monitor environmental compliance on-site

• Capture and manage photographic documentation and detailed daily reports

• Relay on-site issues and observations to CTDOT field engineers and project leadership

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NETTCP Hot Mix Asphalt Paving Inspector Certification (REQUIRED)

• Minimum three (3) years of direct CTDOT roadway or bridge inspection experience

• Willingness to work overnight hours and weekend shifts when necessary

• Proficiency in preparing clear, detailed reports and maintaining proper documentation

• Strong communication and observation skills with a proactive mindset

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and consistent access to reliable transportation
