Clinical Patient Safety Manager

About the Opportunity

As a Clinical Patient Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety and delivering measurable improvements in patient care quality and outcomes.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Risk Management, you will oversee and implement robust systems and processes designed to ensure the safety of patients. Your efforts will contribute to minimizing harm, preventing medical errors, and fostering a culture of safety within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Analysis & Monitoring: Track and analyze patient safety data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Improvement Initiatives: Develop and implement strategic plans to prevent errors and accidents, enhancing patient safety outcomes.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate patient safety incidents, address root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Training & Education: Conduct safety training programs for staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Leadership Engagement: Collaborate with hospital leadership to influence and achieve sustainable safety improvements.
  • Cultural Transformation: Promote a culture of safety by engaging staff, fostering open communication, and prioritizing patient well-being.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a Healthcare-related field.

Certification:

  • California Fire and Life Safety Card (to be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) upon hire. (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of patient safety experience. (preferred)
