Role OverviewThe Senior Design Construction Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of significant construction projects supporting system-wide initiatives. This role includes managing diverse teams, collaborating with external vendors, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on time, and aligned with organizational goals.

Key Details:

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends based on departmental needs.
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel within the assigned region to ensure seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver high-quality construction outcomes.
  • Manage all aspects of project budgets, including monitoring and maintaining accurate cost data.
  • Review, score, and recommend proposals for architectural and general construction services.
  • Facilitate meetings with architects, end users, and construction stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local jurisdictional codes and regulatory standards.
  • Develop infection control procedures and monitor compliance throughout construction.
  • Lead construction progress inspections to verify adherence to project documents.
  • Supervise third-party vendors and negotiate terms for architectural and construction proposals.
  • Coordinate internal departments, including engineering, IT services, clinical engineering, and safety teams.
  • Oversee procurement and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
  • Manage RFPs and review contracts for accuracy, constructability, and alignment with standards.
  • Handle project closeout processes, including final move-in and punch list completion.
  • Maintain comprehensive administrative records and ensure proper documentation archiving.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in construction management.
  • At least 4+ years of experience managing healthcare-specific construction projects.
  • 3+ years of experience supervising direct reports and overseeing vendor relationships.
  • Extensive knowledge of land use practices and financial negotiation for proposals.
  • Familiarity with jurisdictional codes, regulatory requirements, and infection control standards.
  • Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and auto insurance when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
