Job Title: Level 1 Desktop Support Technician (Onsite – Part-Time)

Location: Chicago, ILSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (6-Week Engagement)Start Date: Immediate

Overview:We are seeking a reliable and technically proficient Level 1 Desktop Support Technician for a 6-week onsite engagement at a leading strategy consulting firm serving private equity and financial clients. The role involves providing first-level IT support within a Windows network environment, ensuring the smooth operation of user systems and resolving technical issues with professionalism and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite desktop support to staff during business hours.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows OS, user profiles, hardware peripherals, printers, and network connectivity.

  • Support installation and configuration of software applications as needed.

  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support or IT leadership.

  • Maintain clear documentation of support activities and issue resolutions.

  • Ensure consistent and courteous communication with end users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or help desk role.

  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11 environments and Microsoft 365.

  • Basic understanding of networking principles (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP).

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and reliably in a professional setting.

  • Experience in a financial or consulting firm environment is a plus.
