Our client, in the dairy production industry is seeking a talented and motivated Maintenance Buyer/Procurement Specialist with a background in dairy or brewery production reporting to the Plant Manager. Our client is the leading provider of dairy products such as milk, creamer, cheese in Canada. They offer variety of products when it comes to milk and dairy under national brand names like Natrel, Sealtest, OKA etc. Additionally, our client pride themselves on their business model and the way it helps share the wealth. Maintenace Buyer: Responsibilities and duties

A maintenance buyer is responsible for managing the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services for their companies. The maintenance buyer job description entails researching potential suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts, and inspecting materials and products to ensure they meet specifications.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

a.     DAILY ROUTINE INCLUDES:

 

·       Go through requisitions and prioritize ordering for timely delivery.

·       Check out inventory items as per form and order for low stock items.

·       Update CMMS system for receiving and check out items.

·       Follow Coupa functionality instruction as assigned for procurement.

·       Maintain record for items which are sent out for either repairs or evaluation and follow up for ETA.

 

b.    WEEKLY ROUTINE INCLUDES:

 

·       Manage the inventory records through physically inspecting products ensuring bins are not empty and add in list for ordering as much as you can.

·       Create bins for additional stock items which is to be stock as per either supervisor or engineer instruction. 

·       Help Maintenance supervision as and when required for any maintenance related tasks like sourcing out parts, arranging vendor on site or getting more information from vendor or working with any designations for improvement initiative in Maintenance etc.

·       Temporarily cover for any salaried individual in Maintenance as and when required assigned by Department Manager

·       Maintain stock room area clean and tidy.

·       Generate report as per Maintenance KPI for parts usage and ordering status.

·       Be part of cross functional team for other departments

·       Be part of any new project in Maintenance and working with supervision towards implementation as per Manager instruction

 

Other Requirements:

  • Must have 3-5 years experience the maintenance buyer position or procurement management.
  • Experience in production planning and inventory management is a bonus.
  • Lean knowledge in manufacturing related to procurement/maintenance buying experience.
  • Skills in sales negotiation, offers and client/supplier relations management.
