Our client, a high-end coating and finishing services company is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize the procurement, inventory, and material flow processes that drive our manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset, capable of balancing demand forecasting, supplier negotiations, and inventory control to support uninterrupted production. The successful candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for efficiency improvements.

 Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Procurement

·         Analyze production forecasts and customer demand to ensure accurate material planning.

·         Coordinate with internal teams to align material availability with production schedules.

·         Develop strategies to optimize purchasing processes and supplier relationships.

Inventory & Supply Chain Management

·         Implement systems to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing waste.

·         Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess materials.

·         Conduct regular audits and enforce best practices for inventory accuracy.

Supplier Relations & Cost Management

·         Establish and maintain strong vendor partnerships to secure reliable, cost-effective supplies.

·         Negotiate pricing and contract terms to drive efficiency and cost savings.

·         Continuously assess supplier performance and explore new sourcing opportunities.

Leadership & Team Development

·         Provide direction and support to the supply chain team to maximize efficiency.

·         Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and implement training programs.

·         Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

·         Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve material handling.

·         Leverage lean principles to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance productivity.

·         Address operational challenges proactively to maintain smooth production flow.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

·         Act as a key point of contact between supply chain, production, and customer service teams.

·         Provide regular updates to leadership on material status, risks, and key performance metrics.

·         Ensure effective communication across all operational areas to prevent delays.

Success Metrics

·         Reduced stock shortages and material delays.

·         Increased inventory accuracy and cost savings.

·         Improved supplier performance and contract efficiency.

·         Enhanced team productivity and engagement.

Qualifications

·         Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         Experience:

o    At least five years in supply chain, procurement, or inventory management within a manufacturing environment.

o    Material Planning & Inventory Control/ Management experience (knowledge of KPI, Metrics)

o    Supplier & Vendor Management experience

·         Skills & Competencies:

o    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o    Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

o    Experience with ERP systems, lean manufacturing and inventory management software.

o    Leadership experience with a focus on process improvement and team development.

o    Relationship-building with suppliers for timely deliveries

 

Reporting: Reports to Operations manager
