Our Client is a global manufacturer of flexible packaging systems tailor-made to customer-specific application requirements. The manufacturing facility is located in the Canadian tech hub of Waterloo, Ontario with service centers in the US to ensure quick and direct customer service. The company has been designing and manufacturing superior quality flexible packaging systems for more than 15 years. The engineering team alone has a combined 50 years of packaging and automation experience over a wide variety of applications. The company has successfully manufactured systems for liquid, nutraceutical, snack food, produce, protein, industrial products, bakery, and confectionery applications for companies such as Tyson Foods and Emerson Industrial.

Our client is currently hiring for Inventory Clerk to join the growing team. This position reports to the Inventory Manager.

Job Description:

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring that materials and products are properly documented, stored, and tracked. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to render services in a full-office set-up. They must have 3-4 years of inventory experience in the manufacturing, financial, or construction industry.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

        Accurately report and maintain inventory records

        Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with computer records.

        Input inventory data into the company's software system in a timely and accurate manner.

        Generate and maintain inventory reports, including stock status, inventory transactions, and discrepancy reports.

        Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, ensuring they match purchase orders and packing lists.

        Coordinate and document the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products.

        Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping guidelines.

        Inspect materials and products for defects or damages upon receipt and during inventory counts.

        Report any quality issues to the appropriate department for resolution.

        Work closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials.

        Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education:

        High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant certification in inventory management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience:

        Proven experience in inventory management, quality control, or related field preferably in the manufacturing/packaging industry or in a financial or construction industry. Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.

  • Skills:

        Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

        Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and inventory management software.

        Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Physical Requirements:

        Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 pounds].

        Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  •         This position may require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods.
  •         The work environment may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

         

DURATION:

  • 2 months with a possibility of extension
