Our client in the Paint and Industrial services industry – is currently hiring for a Production Manager to join the team. The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for meeting daily production targets and KPIs.
The company is a provider of advanced coating and finishing services for extrusion companies, window fabricators, building products and others in the fenestration industry. Operating out of 50,000 square foot facility in the Greater Toronto Area, they handle virtually any type of job, specialize in high-volume production orders, and offer a wide selection of color choices and highly durable finishing options.
Job Description
The Production Manager (afternoon shift) will ensure the planning, organization, and labor delegation to a team of 20-30 members through clear and concise communication while upholding high safety and operational standards.
Job Duties:
- Ensure proper planning and control for all areas of responsibility in production, i.e. labor, overtime, equipment, production planning and scheduling for the shift.
- Enforce and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in hiring processes as required and ensure completion and adherence to the Orientation Process, Targeted Training for skills gap and/or career development, Rules of Personal Conduct, and Progressive Discipline process.
- Monitor production at regular intervals to ensure goals/targets are being achieved.
- Contribute to effective production efficiency and recommend safety/production/process improvements to Department / Senior Management.
- Prepare reports on status of established KPIs and champion production-related continuous improvement projects.
- Lead and participate in Kaizen events to ensure continuous improvement goals are being achieved.
- Evaluate and audit existing safety standards and processes, as well as support and encourage the JHSC.
- Ensure proper communication flow between employees and management.
- Communicate with production staff daily and ensure proper communication flow between employees and management.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for production supervisors and lead hands, including but not limited to health & safety, employee relations, and training & development.
- Assess employee performance in all production areas and ensure all employees receive proper training.

- Must demonstrate competence in all Health and Safety (i.e. Certification Training Part I & II)
- Must have working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
- Able to implement continuous improvement efforts, including but not limited to Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant work experience as a production supervisor is required.
- A minimum of a college diploma is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a diploma or degree in an Engineering Program.
