A top-10 AmLaw firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its thriving Corporate Practice Group in Washington, DC. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact in the life sciences industry, representing biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device clients in high-profile transactions.

 

 

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
  • Active Bar Admission in the District of Columbia, in good standing.
  • 3 years of substantive experience with corporate transactions.
  • Background in life sciences and experience working with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting complex contracts, including license, collaboration, and supply agreements for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device clients.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, interact confidently with clients, and deliver high-quality work product under tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 firm is strongly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, sound business judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Advise biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients on strategic licensing and transactions, including technology transfer, research collaborations, and supply agreements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate life sciences contracts.
  • Coordinate with cross-practice teams to deliver comprehensive transactional support.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and offer business-oriented legal guidance to help clients navigate high-stakes transactions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Annual base salary is expected to range from $260,000 – $365,000, determined by experience, qualifications, and market factors. Discretionary bonus opportunities are also available.
